Are "The Nylons" cool?
On the 14th of this month I was fortunate enough to have my favorite performing group come to town. I've been trying to figure out whether I want to publicly admit to this or not, and just now decided what the hell. I know I'm right, so who cares what you think. The Nylons ROCK!! Whoo Hoo, their concert was really hot, all that Acapella music makes me wanna get down. No I am not joking, that's the sad part. As I sat there amongst all the white heads of hair (the others were bald), I wondered to myself, "are The Nylons cool, or am I just really not?"

Work Week.
Patrick took this week off work so that we can get the house fixed up to put it on the market. Today (Day 1) he said that he wishes we had just hired Molly Maid! Can't wait to see how the rest of the week goes!
Most of the work involved in getting the place ready is thanks to the following culprits...............

Bye Bye Baby
Waaaaa....we sold the X-terra. Actually, as sad as I am to see it go, I am really excited to get a minivan. Wow, that is one statement I would never have imagined myself making. How cool am I now....uhhh...yaaa...I drive a minivan, live in the suburbs and spend my days changing diapers, wiping snot and getting covered in spit-up. Glamourous isn't it?
So for the car thing. Our 2003 Nissan X-terra SE Supercharged, silver, beautiful, powerful, off-roading, 4x4 vehicle is gone, and we haven't replaced it yet. Which leaves us sharing Patrick's tiny Honda Civic sporty 2-door death trap for the time being. Since I can't drive standard....don't ask....that leaves me stranded until we find "the" right van. We have a couple of viable options on the go...and we'll either end up with a Honda Odyssey or a Toyota Sienna. Wish us luck!!!

Getting personal
I was thinking last night about this blog and what I'm trying to accomplish here. Most of my posts have not been very positive. When I look back to this time, do I really want to hear about all the crap, or do I want to capture the moments in time that brought me joy and happiness. Hopefully I can manage to be more upbeat and find good things to write about. Of course there will be days where I need to vent, and to be real we need to reflect on the not so pretty side of life as well. I also think I'm not being very personal, you know, talking about my feelings and all that sucky stuff. Considering I have been known to cry at long distance commercials, being a big sucky poo on a blog shouldn't be that much of a stretch.....we'll see.
Things that happened today

Things that happened today
- Alia went from all fours to sitting like an old pro a couple of times in a row so I know it wasn't just a fluke!
- It finally stopped raining and we got to see the sun!
- I drank a whole pot of coffee.
- Still managed to take a nap after that when my Dad was watching Alia and Quin was napping.
- Quinten picked up the telephone and had a conversation about the "nice day today".
- Went to the park.
- Did 5 loads of laundry.
- Had a visit from Jeff and Jinx.

Just stopped by for a quick germ swap.
Patrick was home just long enough for the whole family to exchange germs, now he's back in Nova Scotia, and we're all sick as dogs. Our bathroom looks like a pharmacy at the moment. There is Infant Tylenol for Alia's fever, Children's Motrin for Quin, Dimetapp Cold drops for both of them, I have two different types of Benylin on the go for me, we have Cepacol in liquid form and lozenge form, and last but not least Vicks Vapo-rub....which Patrick likes to smear all up inside his nose....YUCK! Really, I think we'd be better off if I just let myself go with the hibernation instinct and we locked ourselves in the house all winter. And to all the well meaning old ladies at the grocery store...I know my kids are cute, but stop sticking your dirty hands and germy breath into their faces. We spread enough germs amongst ourselves without some stranger adding theirs into the mix!

Dear Husband
Dear Husband,
If you ever manage to get out of Halifax, you'd better come bearing gifts. You're extremely exhausted wife and two needy children will only open the door if we see your arms piled high with excessive bribery. Since you have two extra days to sleep and shop, the two things I covet most these days, you will have to do night duty and change all the poopiest diapers for at least hmmmm let me see, three or four days. I also am going to need for you to cook (or order) a really nice meal so I don't have to feed you. That's all for now, but I'm sure I will come up with some other demands. You can only imagine the kinds of torture I will conceive of (and that's the only conceiving I'll be doing!!) at 4:30AM when both kids are crying and won't go back to sleep.
Bye for now,
Your loving wife
